The source, or mother lode, of gold in the Catalina mountains has never been found, but its lure was so strong that Buffalo Bill – when he retired from show business – moved to the town of Oracle, near the headwaters of Canada del Oro, and dedicated his time, energy, and savings to finding a ledge that contained that precious yellow metal. He believed in an old legend about the "Mine With the Iron Door," supposedly an old Spanish mine whose exact location had become lost or forgotten. Bill Cody died without finding this mine. But memories of the prospectors who panned the Canada del Oro live on in these jewelry designs which include Table Mountain, towering over Oro Valley and visible from miles away.
This pendant (shown above) uses lapis lazuli as a blue-sky backdrop for the miner who is panning for gold in Canada del Oro, with Table Mountain in the background.

In this pendant (above), a rare agate from Mexico creates a sunrise behind Table Mountain and Canada del Oro, a colorful and definitely one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art.
